Marshall
Jean asked me if I would make a birthday card for Marshall a few years ago. He was thinking about retiring and spending more time fishing. I made the sketch above from a photo of a flats fisherman at Turneffe Island I'd clipped from a Patagonia catalog some years earlier. I just happened to find it among the pile of magazine clippings I hope to one day turn into art. I worked up the Snake River-Tetons composition below in Illustrator and printed it on my inkjet. I lived in Omak then. Marshall has still not retired.
Another try with pen.
Final version.
