Sketchbook: Highschool Art

I had a great art teacher in high school. He would start each class with a subject and leave us to our work. He assigned us both standard still life subjects and more creative challenges from time to time - advertising, fashion, rapid portraits, graphic design, variations on a theme, and fabric patterns. He was complimentary and direct. He kept a quiet classroom. If you wore a baseball cap into the classroom he would snatch it away and immediately chop it in half with the paper cutter. The only course I remember from high school was Mr. Bianchi's.
